Google Chrome OS will release new versions every month

According to statistics from research institutions, Chromebook sales in the United States have grown the fastest this year, and are very popular among educational and business users. According to Android Central, from the fourth quarter of 2021, Google will speed up the update frequency of Chrome OS, from the first 6 weeks to the release of a new version every 4 weeks.

This change is expected to begin in October when the official version of Chrome OS 96 will be released. In the official Google Chromium blog, the head of Chrome OS Marina Kazatcke said that the purpose of this change is to enable consumers to experience new features as soon as possible while ensuring that Chrome OS has always maintained security, stability, and simplicity.

From the timeline of this system, Google will skip the Chrome OS 95 version and directly push the 96 version. In addition to the fast track for monthly updates, Google also allows companies and schools to set up a six-month update mode to reduce maintenance costs.
