Not all Android apps can run on Windows 11

At the Windows 11 conference yesterday, Microsoft gave out another big news after the Windows Linux Subsystem (WSL)-the company is using the Amazon App Store to introduce Android applications into the Windows 11 operating system.

Consumers will be able to find their favorite Android applications in the store, and follow-up is expected to provide support in the official Microsoft Store application store. But before trying to run Android applications on Windows 11, please note that there are some limitations:

  • Android applications that rely on Google Play services (including Google Maps, Gmail, Chrome browser, etc.) will not be able to experience them on Android 11.
  • All content provided in the Amazon App Store will not be re-introduced in the Microsoft Store. The former will get in touch with developers later this year to share details on how to publish the application to the Windows platform.
  • Prior to this, Windows users could only choose from the first Amazon App Store.
