Apple will launch an iPad Pro larger than previous one

According to Bloomberg’s well-known tipster Mark Gurman, Apple is currently considering the development of a larger iPad with a larger screen size than the 12.9-inch version of the iPad Pro currently on sale.

He said that any change in the iPad screen size will take several years to develop. In addition, Apple will design a new iPad tablet with a glass back cover in 2022, based on the existing 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad.

The Apple iPad currently on sale uses an aluminum alloy shell, and the thickness of the new 2021 will be slightly increased compared to previous years. The iPad Pro 12.9-inch version is equipped with a Mini-LED display for the first time. The back of the LCD panel has a high-density LED array that can achieve higher contrast and 1000nit brightness.

Mark Gurman also pointed out that the larger iPad will further blur the boundary between tablet and notebook. With the improvement of iPadOS productivity, the application of multi-tasking and split-screen processing is also increasing.

Bloomberg also stated that the purpose of developing an iPad with a glass back cover is to achieve wireless charging. It is also expected to provide reverse wireless charging capabilities to support charging devices such as AirPods.
