YouTube TV launches 4K playback and offline download service for $85 a month to enjoy

YouTube TV today revealed more details of the two features of 4K playback and offline download. Google bundles these two features into a new add-on package-4K Plus, which requires an additional $19.99 per month in addition to the standard YouTube TV subscription fee (monthly fee of $64.99).

In other words, you need $85 to enjoy these two features, and the two are bundled, and you cannot enjoy a certain service alone. This sounds a bit expensive, but users can get a 1-month free trial period. If you register in advance, 4K Plus will be discounted to $9.99 per month in the first year.

This is more acceptable than $20, but users will need to pay the full amount after the first-year discount period has passed. So in the first year, you need to pay $75 to enjoy these two features, and in the second year, you need to pay $85.

Currently, for many customers, offline downloading may be more meaningful than 4K streaming. In addition to specific sporting events, network and cable television 4K content is still very scarce. For this reason, some competitive services, such as FuboTV, will not charge extra for 4K streaming.

YouTube does not have the ability to solve this problem, but it promises that 4K Plus users will be able to “watch major sports events in 4K this summer, as well as live content from networks such as NBC, college football and basketball later this year, and On-demand content from FX, Discovery Network, Tastemade, etc. You can search for “4K” to view all available 4K programs.
