YouTube will unlock PiP mode for all iPhones

According to the latest reports, YouTube is still the leading video-sharing service. There is no doubt that millions of iPhone users connect to it regularly, most of which use specialized applications.

But iPhone users have a shortcoming, and YouTube is reported to be solving this problem. The app lacks PiP support, which means that users cannot do other things on the device while watching videos on the platform.

For a while, everything can be done through Safari, although this is obviously not the most convenient method. But users can load the mobile version of YouTube in the browser and trigger PiP mode to watch a video, and then start another application, but Google once completely blocked this feature.

But it turns out that the search giant is changing its mind. The company is now unlocking PiP for the iPhone version of the YouTube app-not only for advanced users but also for free users.

The whole process will be carried out gradually, and advanced users are obviously the first users to benefit from this feature of the YouTube application on the iPhone. But free users will soon get the same update, YouTube has confirmed this to MacRumors.

“PiP allows users to watch YouTube videos in a small player while browsing content outside of the YouTube app on mobile devices. We started rolling out PiP to YouTube Premium members on iOS and plan to distribute it to all U.S. iOS users launch PiP.”
