Twitter tests Trusted Friends feature to let users choose specific people who can see tweets

Twitter’s design philosophy is similar to a public bulletin board where people can post short texts as long as ordinary text messages. But a long time ago, it has generated some use cases and concerns that users may develop beyond the core features of the platform. It seems that Twitter is experimenting with some features to give users more control over their posts and replies to their posts.

Twitter does provide some control over the privacy of tweets, but this is an all-or-nothing situation. A post can be public or protected, but there is no relationship between the two. According to TechCrunch, Twitter is testing a feature called “Trusted Friends” that allows users to select specific people who can see tweets instead of others. Instagram users may be familiar with similar content in “friends only” stories.

Another feature that the social network is testing is the “reply language prompt”, which is basically a reminder or reminder of the language or words that users don’t want to see in the reply. Unfortunately, these tips don’t actually prevent people from violating the request of the poster, but only serve as a visual reminder and an implicit request to keep people friendly.

Facets is an alias feature that just leaked a few days ago. Instead of restricting who can see tweets, it allows followers to focus on specific topics based on the user’s alias or facets. This may help separate work tweets from personal tweets, at least for those who only want to follow a specific aspect of a person’s Twitter timeline.
