Edge testing visual updates to make it more compatible with Windows 11

With the arrival of the Windows 11 system, Microsoft is also actively improving the new Chromium-based Edge browser. In the latest Canary channel version, Microsoft is testing an experimental Flag called Enable Windows 11 Visual Update, which is expected to improve the browsing experience of Edge on the new system.

In the description of the Flag of the experiment, it reads: Enable the ongoing visual effects applicable to the currently installed Windows system. This means that the appearance of the Edge browser will be more in line with the experience of the Windows 11 system.

After testing by foreign media, it is found that only certain menus and browser windows have been optimized at this stage. The experimental Flag seems to promote a less cluttered feeling. We have seen this window design in the Windows 11 settings application, Microsoft Teams and Outlook mockups shared on the company’s website.

At the Build 2021 developer conference, this Microsoft Edge design was also announced. In addition, Microsoft is also trying to make the Edge menu on Windows 11 brighter by updating the default font style and size. It is worth noting that the company is still doing a Windows 11 visual refresh for Microsoft Edge, and more improvements will come in the upcoming build.
