iPhone 12 reverse wireless charging now unlocked

A few months after the release of the iPhone 12 series, Apple quietly released a new first-party accessory – The MagSafe external battery (power bank) for the iPhone 12 series, with a capacity of 11.13Wh. Wired 15W power, wireless power is expected to be 5W, the price is $99, only white is available and it will be delivered on July 23 at the earliest.

According to the latest report, the power bank has a unique feature and is the first reverse wireless charging device supported by the iPhone. To charge the MagSafe power bank via Apple iPhone 12, users need to connect the phone to the Lightning port for charging.

Apple said: When the iPhone is connected to a power source such as wired CarPlay, users may want to use the iPhone to charge the MagSafe power bank.

Apple’s first MagSafe power bank itself supports charging with the Lightning interface and can be connected to the iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max magnetically. In March of this year, the tipster Jon Prosser stated on the Genius Bar podcast that Apple is developing a MagSafe-compatible charging back clip that will be compatible with iPhone 12 models.

One version of the charging back clip will have a reverse charging feature. However, the current Apple iPhone 12 does not support charging other devices, and it remains to be further opened by the official.
