Toyota parts manufacturers have developed fingerprint recognition engine switches

According to the latest news, Japan’s Toyota auto parts manufacturer Tokai Rika Co., Ltd. announced on the 2nd that in order to prevent car theft, it has developed an engine switch with fingerprint recognition function. Rand Cruiser will be the first Japanese car equipped with this feature.

Donghai Lihua has been developing, designing and manufacturing various security products, such as steering gear locks and anti-theft devices. The newly developed start switch uses the fingerprint sensor in the switching center to verify the user. The engine can only be started when the fingerprint matches the fingerprint of the user registered in advance.

After getting on the car with the car key, the user touches the sensor in the center of the start switch while stepping on the brake, and the system will compare with the fingerprint information registered in advance. If the information does not match, the engine cannot be started. The system can remember 10 kinds of fingerprints and can register the information of multiple people.

The fingerprint activation switch also has a personal identification function, which can automatically adjust the seat position and rearview mirror for each registered user, helping to obtain a more comfortable driving experience.

The Rand Cruiser has been the most stolen vehicle in Japan for two consecutive years (according to the data of the Japan General Insurance Association). With the development of the fingerprint activation switch, Tokai Rihua will be responsible for preventing the theft of vehicles.
