Microsoft improves the rounded corner design of Windows 11

In the Windows 11 version change, a large number of UI elements and menus will receive visual updates from WinUI 2.6 and WinUI 3. One of the biggest visual adjustments is to return to the rounded edge design from the Windows 8 system and abandon the sharp edge appearance. In the Windows 11 system, UI elements, menus, and buttons including right-click menus and pop-up windows are designed with rounded corners.

At present, Microsoft has rounded corners of traditional tools and pages such as the control panel and disk management tools. However, there are still some problems during the transition. In Windows 11, the rounded corners of the window frame have some unexpected white pixels/artifacts. Therefore, the rounded corners look jagged.

Fortunately, Microsoft has solved this problem in the Windows 11 Build 22000.120 preview update released a few days ago. After the update, the rounded corners look better in dark mode. However, this problem has not been completely fixed. For example, there are still some problems with the rounded corners on the upper left of the FeedBack Hub.

In an article on Feedback Hub, Microsoft confirmed that it fixed the problem of white artifacts in the corners of the window. After the update, desktop applications like Steam’s chat window now have better anti-aliasing effects on Windows 11. Microsoft said: Thank you for your feedback! We have fixed a white artifact problem. We have fixed the problem of white artifacts in the corners of the window in Build 22000.120. This version can now be used in the development channel.
