AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT retails for over $1,000 in the US

Unfortunately, the story is not surprising and confirms, once again, how the situation of the graphics card market is far from finding a natural balance in terms of prices and availability. Some were hoping that the latest Radeon RX 6600 XT announced in late July would be an exception, but sadly it doesn’t seem to be looking at what’s been happening overseas in the last few hours.

On Newegg.com, in fact, an MSI Gaming Radeon RX 6600 XT appeared at a price of 1099.99 dollars, substantially three times the price suggested by AMD. It is not the first time that we have seen cards at double or triple their list price, however, what is striking is that this practice has been implemented by a famous and renowned shop of the caliber of Newegg.

It was most likely an oversight (the product has been removed) and it seems clear that the seller is one of the many speculators based in China (at least in this case) who have contributed to some extent to the worse the state of the market.

However, in the extreme case aside, the problem is real. Getting closer to us in Europe, doing some quick research we found the Radeon RX 6600 XT with prices not below 649 euros, over 75% more than the 379 dollars/euros declared by AMD.
