WhatsApp implementing the transfer of chats from iOS to Android

After weeks of waiting and rumors, WhatsApp is finally releasing the chat transfer function from the iOS application to the Android one, although some clarifications are needed. In recent days we had talked to you about WhatsApp Beta to tell you about news regarding the status and a small improvement regarding the UI. Also this time we are in the Beta branch of the messaging platform, however, the reference is to the app for iOS devices.

WhatsApp: chat transfer from iOS to Android

We talked about the wait and chat function for transferring chats from the WhatsApp app for iOS to the corresponding one for Android devices only a few days ago and now the rollout has finally started. At present, the function, which is in a rollout state, is compatible with version 2.21.160.16 of WhatsApp Beta for iOS, in any case, it could take some time before it is available to everyone.

Having said that, the operation is very simple: just open the WhatsApp app on an iOS device, enter the Settings and then the section dedicated to Chat. The new function, if already present, is easy to identify, given that – as shown in the screenshot shown – it is called Move chats to Android. Once you have clicked on the aforementioned item, all you have to do is follow the instructions shown on the screen.

In terms of availability, however, there is another clarification to be made: as specified by the head of WhatsApp Will Cathcart in a tweet, at least in the early stages the chat transfer function will be compatible only with Samsung devices. Likewise, the reverse function – transferring chats from Android to iOS – is not yet available.
