In the Windows 11 preview, Microsoft testing the new Microsoft Teams 2.0

In the Windows 11 preview, Microsoft is testing the new Microsoft Teams 2.0. Unlike the current desktop users, the new version is based on Edge WebView 2, using the Chromium rendering engine and network technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. For Teams 2.0, Microsoft has abandoned the Angular and Electron frameworks. Instead, it will now use the front-end JavaScript library React.js, which is also open source.

In Teams 2.0, Microsoft seems to be testing a new messaging feature called Quote Reply. This will allow you to respond to specific messages, or quote your own information in the response. The quote reply function is available on all social media platforms except the Teams desktop, and it can improve the overall messaging experience.

As you can see in the screenshot above, when you right-click on any message, this option will be displayed. You can also hover your mouse over it and click on the three dots to access the reply option. It applies to all information, including those sent by you.

The quote reply function is not new in messaging or collaboration tools, but it has been missing in the team desktop client. In a roadmap update, Microsoft previously confirmed that the quoted response will appear on the existing Electron client, but this feature has not yet appeared.
