OnePlus 9 RT rumored to be released in a few months, introducing a 50MP IMX766 sensor

As you may have heard, there will be no OnePlus 9T (or 9T Pro) this year. But this may not be the whole story. According to reports, the company is developing a mobile phone (code-named Martini), which may eventually be launched under the trade name OnePlus 9 RT. As the name suggests, it is an enhanced version of the OnePlus 9R (OnePlus is used to having a T at the end of the product), and the OnePlus 9R itself is a OnePlus 8T equipped with the Snapdragon 870 chip (replacing 865).

According to Android Central reports, configuration, one plus 9 RT will provide a modest upgrade than 9R, and like it is only available in certain markets. The processor chip remains unchanged, for the Snapdragon 870, the same 4500 mAh battery and the same 65W charging capacity have not changed, but this should be the first OnePlus phone running OxygenOS 12 (Android 12).

The new version of the operating system introduces more features of ColorOS (now the basis of OxygenOS). It seems that OnePlus will not switch to the new Material You design language, so the UI will look very similar to the previous Android 11 version.

A major upgrade on RT is the camera. The existing IMX 698 48MP 1/2.0″ sensor will be replaced with IMX766. A larger (1/1.56″) sensor can greatly improve the image quality, with a resolution of 50MP and pixel size. It is 1.0μm. OnePlus 9RT is expected to be released in October and will be available first in India and China. Like 9R, the global release is not planned.
