Ephemeral WhatsApp messages disappear after 7 days or 24 hours, but soon they will have one more option. The novelty is still under development and was introduced in beta in version 2.21.17.16 available for all Android users who join the test program. Now only the timing for the release on the stable channel remains to be understood.
The user will therefore have the possibility to decide whether to make the messages disappear after a day, a week or 90 days. This third option offers greater customization of the instant messaging service, always with the dual intent of ensuring the highest level of privacy and not flooding the internal memory of the smartphone with large images and videos.
Three months is a reasonable time to keep memories for a certain period on your device, much longer than just 24 hours – or even a week – provided by the platform so far. Of course, there is always the possibility to set up off the function to ensure that messages are stored inside the chat indefinitely.
Recently WhatsApp has also introduced messages that can be viewed only once and, remember, also the possibility of transferring chats from iPhone to Android (we started with Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3, following the service will be extended to other smartphones with Google OS). Soon it will then be possible to make the reverse transition, or from Android to iPhone.
