Spotify offline playback on Wear OS is rolling out

Last week we told you about Spotify’s welcome announcement of the arrival of offline playback on Wear OS devices. A convenient addition that would allow owners of smartwatches with Wear OS 2.0 or higher to play content on Spotify from their device but, above all, to be able to download their music library and podcasts in order to make it available for offline playback. A very useful feature if you do not have a mobile connection or you simply want to leave your smartphone at home to carry out physical activity.

According to what was reported by Android Central and confirmed by Spotify itself, some users on Reddit would have already received the update and started using the new function. As communicated by Spotify itself on its blog, in order to use the function you must have a smartwatch with Wear OS 2.0 or higher, while only Premium users will be able to download albums and music playlists offline while users in possession of a free plan only podcast downloads will be allowed.

If you haven’t already done so, you can download the Spotify app for free from the Google Play Store.
