Tesla iPhone app updated, adds better visual effects and enhanced widgets

According to the latest reports, Tesla updated its iOS smartphone app, which provides owners of the company’s electric cars with improved widgets, new controls and other features. According to NotaTeslaApp, although the core feature of this app has not changed, its visual effects have been completely adjusted.

There are also some new features, including the ability to send commands from the iPhone to the Tesla car without waking up the car. In addition, users can also use the phone key to unlock multiple Tesla cars.

Other updates include branding new 3D images of vehicles and smoother animations when users browse the app. Tesla also removed the dedicated Charging section of the app and only provided charging information when the vehicle was plugged in.

The speed limit, valet service mode and sentinel mode settings have been moved to the new Security category, and users can also view the Supercharging history in the app. There are also two widgets of different sizes that can be added to the iPhone’s home screen.

These widgets detail the name of the vehicle, battery percentage, location or charging information, unlock status, and time of the last information update. Previously, Tesla’s app only provided a less comprehensive widget in the Today view.

It is reported that this Tesla application will be launched on the iOS App Store from Thursday. The Android version will be released soon.
