Twitter Spaces provides some moderators with the ability to create paid groups

Twitter said on Friday that some moderators on its audio chat room feature Spaces can now create paid groups called Ticketed Spaces. The company opened Spaces’ content monetization application earlier in June. Twitter announced the news in a tweet:

We want to help those who create cool chat room groups generate income. Starting today, some hosts will be able to create Spaces that can sell admission tickets. We are currently only experimenting on iOS, but we hope that soon It can be used by everyone. We know it will take a while, but we want to do it for you!

Twitter said that Ticketed Spaces allows the host to choose the ticket price for the audience and set the size of their space, for more intimate and in-depth conversations. The company officially launched Spaces, a competing product for Clubhouse voice chat rooms, in May, and launched a beta test of this feature last year.
