CDPR is uncertain whether the enhanced version of Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3 will be released as scheduled

Since Cyberpunk 2077 suffered a word-of-mouth crisis, CD Projekt, the game’s developer, seems to have encountered a bottleneck. In its recent information publicly disclosed to investors, the company revealed that it is not completely certain whether the next-generation versions of The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 will be listed in 2021.

Previously, CD Projekt announced enhanced versions of Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3 for next-generation consoles in June and September 2020, respectively. On the basis of retaining the original game content, the two games have enhanced the screen, support ray tracing special effects, and shorten the loading time of the game.

Although the above two games are still planned to be launched at the end of 2021, in the first half of the performance conference call, the senior vice president of CD Projekt business told investors that it is not entirely certain that the development plan will not change.

Regarding the next-generation version of Cyberpunk 2077, he said at the meeting: Considering the lessons we have learned in the past year, and considering that this project is still under development, we are not entirely sure that the development plan will not change.

Saber Interactive, who is in charge of the Switch version transplant, is also responsible for the development of the next generation of The Witcher 3. Similarly, the vice president also said: We are not entirely sure that the release schedule will not change.

According to the previous CD Projekt, one-third of the company’s employees are currently in charge of Cyberpunk 2077.
