The US House of Representatives does not know who the current CEO of Yahoo is? The warning letter was sent to the CEO 4 years ago

According to the reports, 11 Republican members of the U.S. House of Representatives recently issued warning letters to 13 American technology giants, reminding them not to provide private information to the Congressional Riot investigative committee.

In June of this year, the U.S. House of Representatives approved a plan to establish a Congressional Special Investigation Committee composed of Democratic members to investigate the Congressional Riot incident in the United States on January 6 this year.

The committee requires 35 telecommunications and social media companies to keep phone records and data of some individuals, including members of the Trump family, and those accused of being involved in the riots.

In response, 11 Republican members of the US House of Representatives recently issued warning letters to 13 American technology giants, including Yahoo, Amazon, Apple, Facebook, and Google, reminding them not to provide private information to the investigation committee.

Republican lawmakers believe that this would violate federal law and would put every American who owns a cell phone or computer under the control of the Democratic Party. It is worth mentioning that the warning letter originally sent to Yahoo was sent by the House of Representatives to Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayerfour years ago.

In July 2012, Meyer became the CEO of Yahoo, but he left in 2017. But in the warning letter, the House of Representatives still referred to Meyer as the President and CEO of Yahoo. Yahoo was acquired by Verizon in 2017 and later merged with AOL to form a new company, Oath.

The CEO is Guru Gowrappan, who was the global general manager of Alibaba. Later, Oath changed its name to “Verizon Media”. Earlier this year, it was sold to Apollo Global Management, a private equity firm, with Gu Ranpan still serving as CEO.
