Telegram’s latest Android beta update introduces a highly anticipated feature

Group chats are a highly appreciated solution by users, as they allow you to organize activities of all kinds with great simplicity and also Telegram, as well as all messaging apps, can count on this functionality. In some cases, however, it is not enough to communicate with a certain group of users (whether they are colleagues, friends or family, it makes no difference) but it is also necessary to know if all the participants have actually read one or more messages (perhaps the most important ones, with which, for example, you choose the time of a meeting or the place) and this functionality is not supported by all applications.

Well, with the latest beta version of Telegram even this app is finally enriched with the possibility of knowing who has read a particular message within a group conversation. As we learn from Android Police, this feature should only be supported in group chats with fewer than 50 recipients. On the desktop version of the messaging service, it is possible to see who has read a message by right-clicking on it, while on the one for Android devices a long press will be required to display the same menu.

It seems that not all Telegram users have welcomed this new feature, as there are many who do not want to allow all members of the group to know that they have viewed a message, especially if the function cannot be disabled in the settings. At the moment there is no certain information on the possible implementation of this functionality in the stable version of the app or on its timing. The latest beta version of Telegram (i.e. 8.0.1) for Android can be downloaded from the App Center while the stable release of the application is available in the Google Play Store.
