A leaked screenshot shows the OnePlus 9 Pro with ColorOS 12

The merger between OnePlus and OPPO and the decision of the first to adopt the interface of the second (i.e. ColorOS) in China also on their smartphones has generated no small concern among OxygenOS fans.

Despite the assurances of OnePlus, in fact, the merger of the two developer teams for many represented a first step towards the definitive replacement of OxygenOS with ColorOS and in recent days a new step in this integration process between the two interfaces may have been announced.

OnePlus and OPPO have announced that next year they will release an integrated software update that will help improve the user experience, taking inspiration from both ColorOS and OxygenOS. Well, it seems that OnePlus has started testing this update and the first image of OnePlus 9 Pro with ColorOS 12 based on Android 12 has been published on the Net.

The device in question has as its model number the initials LE2121 and is therefore the version of OnePlus 9 Pro intended for international markets. This photo suggests that the Chinese manufacturer is testing ColorOS 12 on the international variant of the smartphone and this would make sense if in its projects there is the release of a stable version of this interface in the coming months.

On the occasion of the merger between the development teams of OnePlus and OPPO, the former assured its users that nothing would change for smartphones marketed outside China (where, on the contrary, the OPPO interface would have been adopted).

Apparently, after a few months the situation would have already changed and in the course of 2022 ColorOS and OxygenOS will come to merge into a single interface, probably characterized by the distinctive features of that of OPPO but with some gem software than that of OnePlus. We’ll see.
