This application brings one of the strengths of Android 11 to Android 12

Android’s shutdown menu has undergone some design changes over the years but it’s not always easy to realize what Google has changed, as this is a feature that is often customized (even heavily) by various smartphone manufacturers, in order to adapt it to the needs of their interface.

With Android 11, the Google team decided to add shortcuts for smart home automation to the shutdown menu, in order to transform the device into a sort of real hub for your smart home ecosystem but with Android 12 it seems that the developers of the Mountain View giant have decided to focus on a more minimal design.

How to improve Android 12 with the Classic Power Menu app

Well, Android 12 users who miss the interface of the shutdown menu of the previous version of the OS could find a valid ally in Classic Power Menu: it is, in fact, an application that not only allows you to restore the controls of the device and quick access functions but also to customize this menu to your liking.

Made by Kieron Quinn, a member of XDA Developers, Classic Power Menu is a versatile app that allows you to customize the shutdown menu on devices running Android 11 (or higher). And so Classic Power Menu allows you to add buttons to take a screenshot, reboot for recovery, restart the bootloader interface and manage smart home devices, all with the ability to create a theme based on the Material You background.

This application requires the root of the device and, to avoid that when pressing the power button there is a slight delay or the display for a moment of the standard power menu before the customized one is shown, we recommend the use of an optional Xposed module. You can find all the information on the developer’s GitHub profile while the Classic Power Menu app can be downloaded here.
