Windows 11 native Paint ushered in a major visual upgrade and better interactive experience

The MS Paint application, which has existed since Windows 1, has received a major upgrade and update on the upcoming Windows 11 system. In the Windows 11 system, Microsoft has visually upgraded a variety of native applications including Photos, Snipping Tool, Alarms & Clock, Mail & Calendar, and Microsoft Store, and MS Paint has also brought a new experience in this upgrade.

The new design of MS Paint is now being rolled out to more testers in the Windows Insider Program. As part of the redesign, MS Paint got a new command bar that replaced the existing ribbon layout, and the application’s windows now follow the new Mica material of Windows 11.

Its brushes, color options, menus, and font size toolbars have also adopted a new look, which makes the classic ribbon interface feel outdated. In addition to the visual changes in Fluent Design and Mica, MS Paint now includes a new text editor toolbar to help users change the alignment of the text, and use the drop-down menu to easily switch between different fonts.

In addition, Microsoft seems to be testing the black mode for the MS Paint application to make it consistent with Windows 11. However, this redesign does not seem to be complete, and you may encounter legacy components when navigating between the menus and pages of MS Paint.

Windows 11 will arrive in a few days, and this new MS Paint will not be included in the upgrade. This is because it will take several weeks for the MS Paint application to go through the Beta and Release Preview channels, and then enter the production channel.

Fortunately, the MS Paint application is available through the Microsoft Store, so you don’t have to wait for the 22H2 version of Windows 11 or any other feature updates to try a new look.
