Apple finally started allowing unpaid users to report bad content on the App Store

Now, Apple will let you report problematic applications directly from the App Store list through a new and improved Report a Problem button. Not only has the button returned to the list of individual apps for the first time in years, but it now also includes a dedicated Report Fraud or Fraud option in the drop-down menu.

Before iOS 15 was released, the only way you could find this button was to scroll all the way down to the bottom of the App or Game tab in the App Store. After logging in to Apple’s official website, you can select Report Suspicious Activity and Report Quality Issue.

Request a refund or Find my content. None of these options provide a clear way to report a scam, but selecting Report Suspicious Activity will transfer your complaint to Apple’s support department. But the interesting thing is that Apple will only let you report a quality problem if you have already paid (and thus been deceived).

But now, it seems that every free app with in-app purchases provides a report a problem option. Some apps that have never paid (but can be paid) all display this button, but the reporting process is basically the same as before.

Of course, the biggest question is whether Apple will actually take action on these reports. According to data, Apple has only 500 human app reviewers, compared with 15,000 content reviewers for Facebook, 200 for Google, and 2,200 for Twitter.

It is worth noting that Apple started hiring an ASI Investigator position on September 8. ASI investigators are responsible for investigating fraudulent applications and trends, as well as the developers involved, read part of the job posting. Unfortunately, the job posting no longer exists; it has been taken down. Obviously, Apple must be listening to the recent wave of anger surrounding the app store.

Perhaps Apple’s automated system can use the new data to alert when a fraudulent application exceeds a predetermined threshold.
