Google search has also given up support for IE11

Although Microsoft is not yet ready for a world without the Internet Explorer browser, the Mountain View-based search giant Google has taken the lead in planning to terminate support for customers using IE11. Even if users can still connect to the Google search engine and even retrieve content through the Microsoft IE browser, the comprehensive experience does not contain as many features as modern browsers.

On the other hand, Google encourages users to abandon the old Internet Explorer and switch to the embrace of their own Google Chrome. At the same time, Microsoft is also working hard to remove the historical coverage of IE and create a unique new version of Microsoft Edge browsing experience based on the Chromium open-source browser kernel.

As the default first choice on the Windows 10/11 operating system, Microsoft Edge will take over the historical mission after IE11 is retired next year-even for compatibility issues, Microsoft still leaves the so-called IE mode:

  • Microsoft Edge not only provides a faster, safer, and more modern browsing experience than Internet Explorer, but it also solves a key issue-compatibility with old websites and applications.
  • Microsoft Edge has built-in IE mode so that users can directly access old websites and applications built for IE.
  • Because Microsoft Edge can take on this important task, the IE11 desktop application will end its support on June 15, 2022, and will be officially retired in certain versions of the Windows 10 operating system.

Finally, Microsoft 365 and other Microsoft applications will no longer support the Internet Explorer browser.
