Google Pay gets smarter with 4 new shortcuts

The new Google Pay app represents a decisive step forward compared to the previous version and the developer team of the Mountain View giant continues to work on its improvement, probably with the hope of making it even more popular: it is probably not a secret, in fact, that Google’s expectations were quite high and at least partly not met.

Well, among the innovations studied by the Mountain View giant to make Google Pay more popular, there seems to be a shortcut menu, added at the moment only for a small circle of users but which will probably be implemented at a general level in the coming days.

The new context menu we are talking about appears in the main tab of the app and offers four links to as many common Google Pay features. The first shortcut opens the contactless payment settings and allows users to change cards quickly (this feature is also available on a button at the top of the interface on the same page but with the shortcut, it is easier to reach).

The other three shortcuts allow you to reach the page for sending or requesting money, the one to view offers and the one to keep track of expenses. In all cases, these are features that are also available in other parts of the interface but this new menu aims to make them reachable with a single touch. The new menu seems to be implemented by Google with a server-side update and, therefore, should not be tied to a specific version of the Android app.
