Microsoft recently released the Edge 97 version to the Edge Insider Dev channel. The first version Build 97.0.1060.2 brings new PDF and password management functions. Microsoft Edge is the default PDF reader on Windows 10 and Windows 11. This new version further improves the viewing and marking experience. Microsoft Edge has also become a good password manager. This new version makes it possible to create new website accounts or use coupons and checkout on shopping websites with just one click.

- Added the function of drawing arbitrary highlights on PDF files.
- Added the option to print even or odd pages.
- Combine the auto-fill and password generation functions on the account registration page so that you can create a new website account in one click.
- On some shopping websites, combine the automatic filling of personal information and payment information, so as to be able to use coupons and checkout in one click.
- One-click password update is enabled by default. Add a button to the leaked password setting page to directly enter the password update page of the website, and then use the password generation function to automatically fill in the new password.

- Added a strategy to control whether to enable accessibility image tags. This strategy can control whether services can be used to generate descriptions for images that have not yet been described.

- Added an experimental API to the WebView2 application for sending and receiving post web messages to iframes.

As usual, this new version also brings some bug fixes. With Edge 97 landing on the Dev channel this week, Edge 96 has also entered the Beta channel and will reach the stable channel at the end of this month. If you are using Linux, Microsoft Edge released a stable version this week, which supports all major Linux variants.
