Samsung announced that it has successfully developed its industry’s first 14-nanometer-based next-generation mobile DRAM-LPDDR5X (low-power double data rate 5X), and said that its 14-nanometer LPDDR5X is in Speed, capacity and power-saving features have been greatly improved.
Previously, Samsung developed its first 8Gb LPDDR5 DRAM in 2018. According to data released by Samsung, LPDDR5X has the fastest operating speed among Samsung’s existing mobile DRAMs, up to 8.5Gbps, which is 1.3 times the operating speed of the previous generation LPDDR5 at 6.4Gbps.

Samsung uses a 14-nanometer process for this product. Compared with LPDDR5, the power consumption rate of LPDDR5X can be reduced by about 20%. In addition, Samsung has developed a single-chip capacity of 16Gb (Gigabit) and expanded the total capacity of the mobile DRAM package to 64GB.
Starting from the end of this year, Samsung will provide solutions for customers’ next-generation technologies through technical cooperation with IT customers around the world and transform them into a new product lineup.
