Google is working on a chat head for Android searches

Google is constantly looking for ways to simplify the user experience on Android and for the use of its services and to demonstrate this we have the latest news unearthed by 9to5Google regarding the app of the most famous search engine in the world. As already happened with Google Assistant, Big G is in fact testing a chat head called “Search bubble” which provides quick access to both voice and text searches.

The version of the Google app in which this feature was found is beta 12.44 and provides that the user can access the search engine at any time thanks to the Search bubble. The interface is very simple and provides that when you are not using it, the Search bubble will remain semi-hidden on the right or left side of the screen while it then assumes a pill-like shape when taken out from the side where it was stationed. The icons are two and represent the classic magnifying glass for text search and a stylized microphone indicates voice search.

Voice search, as already happens within the Google app, does not provide for the activation of Google Assistant, simply the dictated words will be transcribed for the search or the app will analyze the music we are listening to for a search similar to the one for which Shazam has long been famous. Obviously, the Search bubble will be usable in any app and not just the home screen.

At the first activation, users will have the possibility, through a prompt, to keep or remove the pill while when we drag it, two options will be visible at the bottom of the screen, above which, once the Search bubble is brought, the user will be able to hide the pill momentarily or disable the functionality altogether. Given the level of graphic cleanliness and the number of options available, it is possible that Google searches via chat heads can actually be released to the public, unlike Assistant chat heads which never arrived in a stable version.
