Ubisoft will invest nearly $1 billion to establish its fourth studio in Quebec

Although Ubisoft started in France, the development of 3A masterpieces such as Far Cry and Assassin’s Creed is increasingly concentrated in Quebec, Canada. Recently Ubisoft announced that they will continue to increase investment in Quebec. Ubisoft plans to invest US$950 million in Quebec, including the establishment of a new studio in Sherbrooke, which will be led by Nathalie Jasmin. She has served as a senior producer for games such as Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate and Rainbow Six: Siege.

It is not clear which game Sherbrooke Studios will work on, but Sherbrooke is located between Montreal and Quebec City, so it may participate in the development of new titles in the Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry series. It is rumored that Ubisoft’s goal is to transform these two series of games into online service games like Destiny.
