Tesla recalls 7,600 Model X/S cars in the U.S.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced today that Tesla will recall 7,600 electric vehicles in the United States because the driver’s airbag cushion may be affected during deployment. NHTSA stated that the airbag in the driver’s seat may tear when deployed, resulting in an inability to adequately protect the driver in a collision and increasing the risk of injury. Documents show that the recall involves some Model X and Model S models produced in 2021.

In February of this year, Tesla announced that it would recall 134,951 Model S and Model X electric vehicles. The touch screen system of these vehicles has problems, which may cause the camera image to disappear, and the windshield defogging and defrosting system will fail, thereby reducing the visibility of the driver in inclement weather. On June 2nd, Tesla announced the recall of nearly 6,000 electric vehicles in the United States because the brake caliper bolts may be loose, resulting in a loss of tire pressure.

Another recall involves 2,166 Model Y electric vehicles produced from 2019 to 2021, mainly because the fasteners that fix the second-row left and right seat belt retractors may not be properly connected.
