Battlefield 2042 gains AR enhancements this week, a major patch will be announced in December

Today (November 24, 2021) DICE’s team released a Battlefield developer progress update blog post, titled “Update Release and Future Plans”, in-depth discussion of game performance and server stability, gun battles and game balance, single-player/Cooperation/Customize Portal (portal) experience progress, and more. Players can also find measures to solve these problems, as well as the expected timetable for the introduction of adjustments.

So far, one of the main complaints from players on Battlefield 2042 is the proliferation of the trajectory of the assault rifle (AR). In the game, the spread of assault rifles is severe, resulting in poor firing range. Officials said that the Battlefield 2042 patch #2 to be released this Thursday, will reduce the spread of all bullets when moving open sight (ADS) and reduce the spread of ADS when many weapons are stationary. The PP-29 submachine gun that currently dominates the game will be weakened and the vertical recoil will be increased.

Thursday’s patch will also weaken the LCAA hovercraft and MD540 bird helicopter. This update will also fix a bug that affects many players’ playing experience, that is, when the player is knocked down near an object, teammates cannot be resurrected. At the same time, in the portal mode, all experience points have been temporarily banned.

DICE said that the game will usher in the third update in December, which will be a bigger comprehensive adjustment and repair, which will involve all aspects of the game, including more adjustments related to gunfights. They stated that the patch will fix the issue of is synchronization between aiming and mouse sensitivity.

In addition, the anti-armor capabilities of the NTW-50 sniper rifle will be weakened, and the neutron bullet scattering problem in Portal mode will also be fixed. DICE also admitted that the aiming assistance on the console version of the game is “inconsistent” with the design expectations, and it is investigating this, and the specific repair method has not yet been announced.

DICE said that the December update #3 will include “more than 150 independent fixes” to the in-game map, and will involve vehicles, guns, experts, tools, danger zone mode, portal mode, PC performance, and user interface (UI).

The following are some of the highlights:

  • Added UI, showing that players within 50m can resurrect you.
  • Added UI to show players who are coming to the rescue when you are knocked down.
  • When the amount of health or ammunition is low, a resource icon will be displayed above the head of friendly players within 50m, indicating the type of resource (medicine pack or ammunition pack) they can give you.
  • New official vehicle team death mode template (portal mode).
  • New official infection mode template (portal mode).
  • Rule Editor: Added the ability to detect that the player has been killed and additional logic has been applied (portal mode).
  • Improved the blur that affects DLSS.

DICE also said that they already know that some PC players have difficulty getting the number of frames they expected and often encounter the problem of high CPU usage, but they have not announced a solution. DICE said: “We need more time to determine engine-level optimization and development solutions and to ensure that these updates are error-free. In the short term, we will do our best to help provide performance improvements, reduce CPU load, and where possible Increase the number of game running frames.

Players also expressed dissatisfaction with the new scoreboard in Battlefield 2042, because the new scoreboard can no longer compare the scores of each player on the server. DICE stated that they have a lot to discuss the scoreboard, but they are currently unable to disclose their ongoing development work.

The production team said: We can’t cover the scoreboard at the end of the game, the server browser, and the team’s voice chat function at once, but we have a lot to say. When we have something to show you, we will be the first time to update, including detailed information about our long-term goals for certain features and functions.

In the patch announcement article, DICE also contains a long but incomplete list of updates, listing many of the changes in patch #2 that will go live this Thursday and patch #3 will go live in December. Officials told 3DM that the Chinese version of the detailed patch will be released three days later when Chinese players can view more detailed information about the patch on Thursday. In the original text, DICE also revealed that in addition to #2 and #3, there is another update hope to be released before the holiday (Christmas), but did not disclose more relevant information.
