Tencent hires former Activision Blizzard executives to expand global distribution team

Tencent announced the appointment of Zoran Roso as the marketing director of its global distribution department. For the past 20 years, Roso has been an important figure in the German gaming industry, having held executive positions in companies such as Activision Blizzard, Take-Two and Sony.

Tencent said that the appointment of Roso is part of Tencent’s strategy to expand its international influence. He will bring new games to the market and provide continuous support for instant service games. David Tyler, Tencent’s global marketing director, said: We are very happy to join Zoran. Tencent has been exploring the European and American markets for the past few years. In June this year, Tencent Tianmei Studio opened a new office in Seattle, USA, focusing on the development of 3A console games. In July, a new studio was established in Montreal, Canada, which is also responsible for the development of 3A games.

According to the financial report for the third quarter of 2021, Tencent’s international gaming revenue increased by 20% over the same period last year.
