The latest data shows that Windows 11 market share is close to 10%

According to AdDuplex survey data in November, Windows 11 is gradually approaching double-digit market share. The company’s latest data based on 60,000 Windows 10 and Windows 11 computers shows that 8.6% of computers are currently running Windows 11, which is 3.8% higher than last month.

At the same time, Windows 10 version 21H2, the latest version of the operating system began to be launched on PCs that are not eligible to use Windows 11. This version also appeared in AdDuplex’s vision this month. As of the end of November, its market share was 3.7%, and it currently ranks behind Windows 10 2004 version (11%), Windows 10 20H2 version (31.8%) and Windows 10 21H1 version (36.8%).

If the latest data from AdDuplex shows that Windows 11 is steadily rising, then a separate analysis by IT asset management company Lansweeper has a different view. According to this study based on more than 10 million Windows computers, only 0.21% of computers were running Windows 11 in November. The AdDuplex report focuses on more niche personal computers that run AdDuplex ads, and maybe Windows Insiders and early hobbyists. Such users are more likely to run consumer applications with AdDuplex ads, thereby biasing the results.

Microsoft announced last year that it had landed on 1 billion Windows 10 monthly active devices. For Microsoft, it may be too early to share some official figures on Windows 11. Starting from the 21H2 version of Windows 11 and Windows 10, the functional updates of these operating systems are only released once a year in the second half of the calendar year. We may have to wait until the autumn of 2022 to get a better understanding of the Windows ecosystem from the housing channel.
