The new version of the Microsoft Store is about to return to the application version number option

When adding new features, Microsoft sometimes takes away a certain feature. In the application list of the new version of the Microsoft Store for Windows 10/11, Microsoft removed the display of the application version number. However, according to a report by the technology media Deskmodder, this feature is about to return.

In the current preview version of the Microsoft Store, the version number of the application can now be found in the additional information section of the application list. However, this is only on the Windows 11 Beta and Dev channel versions.

In addition, in the test of the technology media OnMSFT, the version number is only seen in the installed applications, but not in the applications that have not been installed. This is a change from the public (non-beta) store version, which only lists the publisher, size, language, release date, category, and application permissions or terms of a specific application in the “additional information” section.

As usual, once Microsoft has completed its testing of Windows Insiders, you can expect it to be rolled out to others in future Microsoft Store updates. At least this is a small feature, but it does help to track the version number of the application more easily without having to install the application first and then go to the menu to find the answer.
