Tesla fixed rear seats and steering wheel heating issue via a new update

On December 3, Tesla officially announced that it would formally adjust the OTA upgrade service of the rear seat heating function to the cold kit OTA upgrade service in China from now on, and the service will add the steering wheel heating function.

According to Tesla’s official introduction, models that meet the hardware requirements can purchase the kit for around $400 to upgrade the rear seat heating function and steering wheel heating function. Users who have previously purchased the rear seat heating function service will upgrade the steering wheel heating function for free in the near future.

In addition, the Model 3 standard battery life upgrade version is not equipped with steering wheel heating hardware, users can also purchase the cold kit OTA upgrade service, which is cheaper, but only has the rear seat heating function.

It is worth mentioning that the standard battery life upgrade version of Tesla’s China-made Model 3 delivered from November 1, 2021, and the Model 3 rear-drive version delivered from 2022, are all equipped with seat heating function and Steering wheel heating function.
