Now Android 12 also shows widget previews with Dynamic Color

The release of Android 12 last October gave a nice update to the UI and the widget of the robot under the banner of Material You and everything, at least as regards the Google Pixels, was further enriched and refined a few days ago with the full-bodied Feature Drop of December 2021.

If the Material You is the most visually evident novelty of the new version of Android, it is above all thanks to the Dynamic Color theme system – which does not yet go perfectly with all the apps – that the interface has reached a level of consistency. unprecedented graphics.

As is known, Dynamic Color adapts the colors of the interface based on the background set by the user, generating a color palette each time; all this is completed by the possibility of customization through the dedicated section Background and style.

Until now, the user experience was made less satisfying by the fact that the widgets were not shown correctly in the preview. In some cases, the user was faced with an empty template with the textual indication of the loading in progress, other times not even that.

In a nutshell, you did not have the opportunity to really take advantage of the previews, going to view the widget, as colored by Dynamic Color, before placing it on the home screen. Following the release of the December update, the described problem has been solved: widgets are now loaded correctly and their actual appearance is shown in the preview based on the background colors set.

Putting aside the widget speech, it should be remembered that Android 12 has finally introduced the possibility of carrying out a more in-depth search from the search bar at the top of the application drawer. Well, following this month’s update this function is further enhanced by the Pixel Launcher with the ability to continue the query and search directly within the supported apps. At present the only supported app is Settings, but the hope is that Big G intends to go further.
