Google Home Mini is finally discontinued

Google Home Mini was launched in October 2017, once topped the world’s best-selling smart speakers, and was replaced by Nest Mini two years later. Recently, the speaker was finally discontinued in Google’s official store.

Google Home Mini is a small smart speaker, priced at only $29. According to the statistics of the analysis agency Strategy Analytics in the second quarter of 2018, Google’s small speaker shipments accounted for one-fifth of the global smart speaker shipments, and the global shipment of Home Mini reached 2.3 million.

The speaker had problems such as accidental recording before, and Google chose to disable the top touch function to prevent the problem from further expanding. According to the latest statistics from Strategy Analytics, the best-selling smart speaker in the third quarter of 2021 is Google Nest Mini, followed by Apple HomePod mini and Amazon’s fourth-generation Echo Dot.
