Users of the first generation of Surface Duo may finally enjoy the upgrade treatment in January 2022. Windows Central said that Microsoft is currently testing the Android 11 system on Surface Duo devices.
The build version of Android 11 has been self-hosted by Microsoft employees on internal Surface Duo devices for some time. In addition, Bowden revealed that he believes that the final version was also passed to Google, but due to Google’s own policies, it must be verified before entering consumer devices. The Christmas holiday and the fact that Google and Microsoft are both on vacation also means that verification will be delayed, which is why there is a long wait.
Although Microsoft promised to provide a three-year system update for Surface Duo, the release of Android 11 has always been a source of anxiety for Microsoft fans.
