On December 31, Tesla’s official website in China showed that the price of the Model 3 rear-wheel-drive version and Model Y rear-wheel-drive version was adjusted, with the highest increase of 21088 yuan. Specifically, the models involved this time are all entry-level models.
Among them, the price of the Model 3 rear-wheel-drive version was adjusted to 265,652 yuan, an increase of 10,000 yuan from the previous price; the price of the Model Y rear-wheel-drive version was adjusted to 301,840 yuan, which was an increase of 21.88 million yuan from the previous price.
Regarding the reason for the sudden price increase, Tesla previously stated that due to the continued decline in domestic new energy vehicle subsidies estimated in 2022, the subsidized price of models on sale will be increased.
Prior to this, the Ministry of Finance has issued relevant notices stating that the implementation period of the new energy vehicle promotion and application of the financial subsidy policy has been extended to the end of 2022.
The subsidy standards for 2020-2022 will be reduced by 10%, 20%, and 30% on the basis of the previous year. 2022 will be the last year for the promotion and application of financial subsidies for new energy vehicles.
In addition, because Tesla adopts a direct sales model, the price will be directly displayed on official channels and will be adjusted in a timely manner based on different factors. This price adjustment is only about one month away from the last time.
