Samsung Galaxy S2 gets Android 12 thanks to modding

XDA senior member developer rINandO has compiled an unofficial build of LineageOS 19.0 to bring Android 12 to the GT-I9100 variant of the Samsung Galaxy S2 and despite being currently in its infancy the project looks promising.

Most of the main hardware components, such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, audio out and radio, are in fact working, so Samsung Galaxy S2 with Android 12 is technically usable as a backup smartphone, provided that your carrier has not yet eliminated the 3G network completely, plus SELinux is listed as supported in the ROM release notes.

The list of what is currently not working may however put off many users, as they relate to impractical video recording and malfunctioning cameras, but the developer is committed to continuing to work on the project in collaboration with a fantastic team of colleagues.

All aside, the release of this custom ROM symbolizes another flagship of this Samsung smartphone which for many represents one of the best smartphones of all time. Below you will find the link to download the ROM.
