The stable version of Chrome 97 was officially released today. True, Chrome 97 is not exciting in terms of end-user features, but the new version adds some new features for developers. The most noteworthy thing in the Chrome 97 version is the introduction of the web transport API like the WebSockets interface.
WebTransport is currently in the W3C working draft status. Chrome 97 also adds CSS media queries for HDR display detection, new JavaScript methods, and more local network application support. The Chrome release blog also introduced many security issues resolved in today’s Chrome 97 version.
