Last year, Microsoft Bing and Yandex (Russia’s most popular search engine) announced IndexNow, a new way for website owners to notify search engines of the latest content changes on their websites. Rather than waiting for search engines to discover changes in content, website owners can now do a simple Ping operation to let search engines know that a URL and its content have been added, updated, or deleted.
Recently, Microsoft released the IndexNow plugin for WordPress. This new plugin will automatically submit the URL of a WordPress website to multiple search engines. After installation, the plugin will detect page creation/update/deletion in WordPress, and automatically submit URLs in the background.
