Designers share Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra HD concept render

It is expected that next month, Samsung will officially unveil the mystery of the Galaxy S22 series of smartphones and the Galaxy Tab S8 tablet at the first Galaxy Unpacked conference in 2022. Last week, @OnLeaks has disclosed the storage, color matching and pricing details of the latter. Now, Dutch technology blog LetsGoDigital has teamed up with graphic designer Parvez Khan (aka Technizo Concept) to bring a new set of high-definition concept renderings.

It is said that in addition to the successor to the Galaxy Tab S7/S7 Plus (11/12.4 inches) released in mid-2020, the new Galaxy Tab S8 also includes the flagship Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra model (14.6 inches). Samsung has never tried a notch on a tablet screen before, but given that the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra is expected to have much thinner bezels than the previous generation, the company has also been forced to find a different solution for the front-facing camera.

The Galaxy Tab S7 Plus has been equipped with a beautiful 12.4-inch @ WQXGA+ resolution AM OLED screen, supports a high refresh rate of 120Hz, and is supplemented by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. However, thanks to the increase in the screen-to-body ratio, the size of the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra has not increased significantly, even with the upgrade to a 14.6-inch @ WQXGA+ resolution AMOLED screen (peak brightness 420 nits / 120Hz high refresh support).

It is expected that the notch will allow the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra to accommodate a 12MP wide-angle + another 12MP ultra-wide-angle front camera, support 4K @ 60fps video recording, and Apple’s Center Stage character centering function. In addition, a major feature of the new machine is to continue to provide support for the S Pen stylus, allowing users to work more efficiently and creatively.

It is reported that the latency of the stylus of the Tab S7+ model has been reduced from 26 ms of the previous generation to 9 ms. And according to @UniverseIce, the new stylus has a latency as low as 2.8 ms (compatible with Tab S8 Ultra/S22 Ultra) for a realistic and natural writing experience.

In terms of storage, users can magnetically attract the S Pen to the back and top of the tablet, which greatly reduces the stylus swing. In addition, if the S Pen is out of the connection range of the tablet, the OneUI 4.1 software customized based on Android 12 will automatically issue a reminder.

In terms of processor, it is said that the Galaxy Tab S8 has changed from the long-rumored Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. In terms of storage, the company is said to be planning to launch quite a few versions (8/12/16GB RAM + 128/256/512GB ROM) and retain support for microSD memory cards.

Audio-wise, the Tab S8 Ultra is expected to feature a dual-stereo speaker system that supports Dolby Atmos. The back is a 13MP main camera with autofocus + 6MP ultra-wide-angle lens + LED flash, and the tablet supports under-screen fingerprint/face unlocking.
