OnePlus could go back to its origins, to the so-called flagship killers

Over the years OnePlus has become a very popular company also for its ability to establish itself as a brand capable of offering high-performance smartphones at competitive prices, even if recently the official list of its phones has gradually gone up.

According to the latest rumors, however, in the coming months, OnePlus could try to return to its origins, launching a new series of smartphones that have one of the main strengths in the great quality/price ratio.

OnePlus aims for gaming and performance

According to the popular leaker Digital Chat Station, in fact, OnePlus would be working on a new series of phones focused on performance and games, thanks to a flagship processor and a great quality screen. As for the processor, the Chinese manufacturer may not focus on the CPU of the moment, namely Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, falling back on a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC or on a Qualcomm chip such as Snapdragon 888, Snapdragon 870, thus saving on the final price of the device.

For the display, on the other hand, OnePlus could decide to rely on a flat panel, giving up the curved edges that are so fashionable in this period, especially on premium models. But to keep costs low, the Chinese manufacturer and users may have to be willing to accept some other waivers and among the components that could be subject to “restrictions” are the photographic sector, the battery (which could have a low charging speed or not support wireless charging) and the case (which may not be able to withstand water and dust).

Finally, as regards the price range, the new series of smartphones from OnePlus could be launched in China between 2,000 and 3,000 yuan, equal to the exchange rate of 270 – 410 euros. It remains to be seen whether these devices will also arrive in Europe and, if so, what their price could be (probably higher than that charged in China).
