Redmi Note 11S, the brand confirms an AMOLED display

We are still enjoying the debut of the new Note 11T (first model of Redmi’s Note 11 range to come out of China) but we are already close to the debut of the next model for the Global market. The new mid-range will arrive on the international market (starting from India) as Redmi Note 11S and will have a MediaTek chipset and a respectable photographic sector on its side.

The XiaomiMiui team has published the first render images that show what the definitive design of Redmi Note 11S should be, a mid-range device designed for the Global market. As expected, the terminal will adopt a look in line with what has been seen with the Chinese Note 11 and Note 11T models.

However, we have some minor differences: the main sensor is more centered inside the module and the LED flash is positioned at the bottom right. In short, a style that is β€œnew” in its own way but without betraying the spirit of the range.

Obviously, it is impossible not to expect once again a large display, with a punch hole for the selfie camera. And if already from the MIUI code we had identified an AMOLED solution at 90 Hz, this indiscretion was confirmed by Redmi itself following a leak by Mukul Sharma, who talked about it on Twitter.

Another technical indiscretion concerns the chipset onboard, which should be one of the latest models (the new Dimensity 7000, for example). However, it will almost certainly be a MediaTek solution supported by memories available in various sizes ( 6/64, 6/128, and 8/128 GB ); on the software side there are rumors of native support for MIUI 13, so already with Android 12.

It then continues with the photographic module: Redmi Note 11S should rely on a 108 MP main sensor from Samsung ( ISOCELL HM2), supported by an 8 MP wide-angle (IMX355), a 2 MP macro lens; we will then have a fourth sensor, presumably a 2 MP module dedicated to a depth of field.

The release of the Redmi Note 11S seems to be around the corner: the official social channels of Xiaomi India have published the first official teaser, clearly dedicated to the new model. Consequently, it is almost certain that the debut of the device will be set during the month of January 2022, at least for the Indian market. Regarding the selling price, we expect a figure of around € 250 (as happened with the predecessor).

The new Redmi Note 11S should also reach our latitudes, as evidenced by the EEC certification (where the terminal appears with the acronym 2201117SG). This refers to Eastern Europe, but nevertheless remains an important clue.
