Samsung Galaxy Home Mini 2 certified by Bluetooth SIG or debut next month

At its Unpacked event in February 2020, Samsung quietly unveiled the Galaxy Home Mini alongside the Galaxy S20 series. But unfortunately, this smart speaker was never released in the international market. And according to the latest certification information from the Bluetooth SIG, Samsung may soon launch the successor to the Galaxy Home Mini.

Tech media MySmartPrice found that the Galaxy Home Mini 2 has been certified by the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG). According to the listing on the Bluetooth SIG website, the device has the model number SM-V230 and supports Bluetooth version 5.2.

In November, tech outlet SamMobile reported that the successor to the Galaxy Home Mini could feature a display. The smart speaker is also believed to bring some other major improvements and is likely to be even better than the original Home Mini.

Disappointingly, the report also suggests that the Galaxy Home Mini 2 may only be released in South Korea — just like its predecessors. While the exact release date hasn’t been revealed, it’s possible we’ll learn more about the smart speaker at the Galaxy Unpacked event early next month.
