Google Store: Selling the Pixel 4a has stopped

Google is set to launch a slew of new Pixel products this year, which will likely include at least three new Pixel phones. The current portfolio is already being cleaned up and the sale of the older generations is being stopped: the budget smartphone Pixel 4a is officially no longer available in the German Google Store. That leaves only the Pixel 6.

The Google Store is often (but not always) very rigorous when it comes to maintaining the range. Pixel smartphones are often only sold for a year, sometimes even shorter, and some are removed from the portfolio before the successor goes on sale.

Things are a bit different with the Pixel 4a because despite its successor it has remained available for a very long time – until now. The German Google Store now lists the Pixel 4a as “no longer available”.

The smartphone remained in the range longer than usual because, as is well known, the Pixel 5a is not available in Germany and one did not want to completely ignore this area.

The Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5 smartphones released in the same year have not been available since October last year. And that means waiting for the Pixel 6a, which will probably be launched in May. This has not yet been confirmed, but one can assume that it will be available again in significantly more countries.
