MacRumors contributor Steve Moser spotted the code for the feature in iOS 15.4 Beta 1, and 9to5Mac also highlighted it. There aren’t many details right now, but in the diagnostic services section, there is a mention of a trade-in tool and Cosmetic Scan, which will also involve a QR code.

It’s unclear how the feature would work, but it could allow iPhone users to take an image scan of their trade-in device for a closer look at scratches, dents and other cosmetic damage, and send the results to Apple.
